Accounts Clerk (Part Time)

Department of Earth Sciences
We are seeking an accounts clerk to be involved in a whole range of accounting and financial procedures in the Department, in assisting the Principal Accounts Clerk with purchasing and, particularly, in dealing with invoices, including receiving and processing on CUFS. There are funds for a part-time appointment working 2 or 3 days per week, preferably Mon, Tues, Wed.
This is an interesting post calling for accuracy, good numeracy and keyboard skills. Previous experience of accounts work is essential and preferably a qualification in finance administration. The successful applicant will be educated to A level or equivalent, AAT level 3 would be suitable.
Experience of the University finance system (CUFS) including Marketplace would be an advantage but training will also be given.
The person appointed must play a full part as a member of the Department's team of support staff, covering for others where necessary, and will have excellent time management and organisational skills, be diplomatic and approachable with the ability to be firm when necessary.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
